Global Reporting Initiative

Logo du G.R.I

The Global Reporting Initiative (G.R.I) is a guideline that was developed to globally harmonize corporate sustainability reporting.
Sanofi-aventis has used the G.R.I guidelines in reporting sustainability performance for several years. For the 2006 report, we also performed a materiality test as described in the G.R.I (G3) and the Accountability Standard AA1000 SEC. This was done to assure reporting of our organizations significant economic, social and environmental impacts or those that would be of interest to our stakeholders.

Begun in 1997, the G.R.I is a joint initiative between the American Non-Governmental Organization CERES (Coalition for Environmentally Responsible Economies) and UNEP (United Nations Environment Programs) with the mission of reinforcing quality, rigor and utility to sustainable development reporting.

This long-term process involves international multi-stakeholder groups which on a periodic basis develop, maintain and disseminate globally applicable Sustainability Reporting Guidelines. Companies voluntarily use these guidelines to report their economic, social and environmental performance.
